What is the Assam Higher Secondary Exam?

The Assam Higher Secondary Exam is the final exam for Class 12 students in Assam. It is organized by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), which is now part of the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB). This exam conducts every year for students in three main streams: Arts, Science, and Commerce. There is also a Vocational stream for students learning specific skills. The exam tests what students have learned over two years (Class 11 and 12) and is a key step before they move on to higher studies or jobs.

For 2025, the Assam HS exams started on February 13 and ended on March 17. Practical exams, where students show hands-on skills, were held earlier, from January 29 to February 10. Over 3 lakh students took part in these exams across 856 centers in Assam. Out of these, 2,30,091 were from Arts, 57,724 from Science, and 17,869 from Commerce. There were also more girls (1,62,423) than boys (1,44,502) who appeared for the exams.

The Assam HS Exam Result 2025 hasn’t been announced yet. The exams finished on March 17. Based on past years, the result usually comes out about a month or two after the exams. Last year, in 2024, the result was declared on May 9. This year, assumptions are made that it might come in April or May 2025. Checking the result is easy, and students can do it in a few ways. Here’s how:

  2. Enter your roll code and roll number in the provided fields.

  2. Download the “Upolobdha” app from the Google Play Store.
  3. Open the app and select the “HS Result 2025” option.
  4. Enter your roll number and other required details.
  5. Click “Get Result” to view your scores; download the result for records.

  1. Open the SMS app on your phone.
  2. Type: ASSAM12 ROLL NUMBER (e.g., ASSAM12 123456).
  3. Send the message to 56263.

The online result is temporary. Students will get their official mark sheets from their schools later, usually a few weeks after the result is out.

What Will the Result Show?

The Assam HS Result 2025 will have important details like:

  • Whether you passed or failed. To pass, students need at least 30% marks in subjects without practicals and 30% in theory plus 40% in practicals for subjects that have both.
